For 10 months of 2020, 6,715 high-tech medical services (HTMU) were provided to the population of Kazakhstan in the amount of 20.9 billion tenge. Most of them were received by patients with severe diseases of the cardiovascular system, neurosurgical and gynecological diseases.

The average cost of a treated case is 3.1 million tenge.

“It should be noted that both residents of cities and remote villages have equal access to 78 types of HTMU. If a person is sick, he needs diagnostics and treatment using innovative technologies, then regardless of where he lives, he can count on routine medical care, the main condition is the status of insurance in the compulsory health insurance. In the event that the procedure required by the patient is not available at the local level, he is sent to the regional or republican clinic, ”the press service of the Social Health Insurance Fund explained.

Aigul Abikeyeva, the head of the patient support service and internal control of the city polyclinic №9, spoke about how you can get high-tech medical care.

“If a person feels unwell, he should contact a local therapist, who will diagnose him and send him for further examinations and consultations with specialized specialists. The conclusion about whether an operation is needed is made by the doctor of the clinic that performs this type of HTMU. If the need for surgery is confirmed, then the patient begins to prepare for a planned hospitalization. The collection of the tests necessary for this and the placement on the portal of the Bureau of Hospitalization is carried out by the polyclinic, ”the expert said.

This algorithm applies to both urban and rural residents. It should be noted that each patient has the right to choose the organization in which he wants to receive HTMU.

At the expense of social health insurance, patients who underwent surgery can also undergo rehabilitation. In 2020, the FSMS signed contracts with 559 providers of these services.
