FSMS told about rehabilitation for patients after COVID-19 and pneumonia

The corresponding order of the Ministry of Health "On approval of the rules for the provision of medical rehabilitation" is already being registered with the Ministry of Justice, said Bolat Tokezhanov, Chairman of the Board of the FSMS, at a briefing in the CCS.

“Patients insured in the CSHI system who have had coronavirus and pneumonia will be able to receive rehabilitation services at the expense of health insurance. Currently, the draft order of the Ministry of Health "On approval of the rules for the provision of medical rehabilitation" is being registered with the Ministry of Justice, "Tokezhanov said.

After the approval of the order, patients who have suffered from coronavirus infection and pneumonia of moderate severity, severe and extremely severe degrees will be subject to medical rehabilitation. A referral for medical rehabilitation will be issued at the conclusion of a multidisciplinary team of a hospital or clinic with the participation of a rehabilitologist.

“The main criteria for evaluating the indications are: respiratory function (saturation level, changes in CT / X-ray data), ability to daily life (Bartel's index). Patients who have undergone CVI and / or pneumonia in extremely severe and severe degrees are subject to stage 2 rehabilitation at the level of a round-the-clock hospital, followed by transfer to stage 3. Patients who have had CVI / moderate pneumonia without pronounced disorders are subject to 3-stage rehabilitation at the level of a round-the-clock hospital, including in a sanatorium-resort environment, a day hospital and at an outpatient clinic. Those citizens who were treated at home and did not apply to medical organizations can also count on rehabilitation of 3 stages. Of course, they also need to pass a multidisciplinary team assessment, ”he said.

Tokezhanov recalled that already now, early rehabilitation of patients with coronavirus infection and pneumonia is carried out in accordance with the 10th edition of the clinical protocol "Coronavirus infection - COVID-19" during hospital treatment.

In general, for the provision of rehabilitation services this year, the Social Health Insurance Fund signed contracts with 559 suppliers in the amount of 46.7 billion tenge. Among the providers of these services 203 are private medical organizations.

“The Fund is ready to provide funding for rehabilitation services for the insured population in need of them after suffering from coronavirus or pneumonia after the approval of the order of the Ministry of Health,” said the Chairman of the Board of the Fund.
