From March to September 2020, over 135 billion tenge was allocated for the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of Covid-19 - FSMS

For the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection, as well as allowances for medical workers for participation in anti-epidemic measures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, 154.7 billion tenge was allocated to the Social Health Insurance Fund.

From March to September 2020, the FSMS paid 135.6 billion tenge. Most of the costs, and this is 81.3 billion tenge, accounted for premiums to the wages of medical workers involved in anti-epidemic measures.

“The Ministry of Health at the central level and local executive bodies continue to prepare for a possible second wave of coronavirus. For its part, the Fund makes timely payments for medical care, which is provided to patients with coronavirus and pneumonia. At the same time, patients with these diseases are provided with medical care regardless of the status of insurance in the compulsory health insurance system, ”the press service of the FSMS notes.

From March to September, over 24.5 billion tenge was spent on financing hospitalization in provisional and quarantine hospitals, in which more than 240 thousand people underwent quarantine isolation and, if necessary, treatment.

In the same period, 72 thousand patients were treated in infectious diseases hospitals. In total, 18.8 billion tenge was spent on the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and coronavirus pneumonia on an outpatient and inpatient basis.

9 million tenge was allocated to pay for medical services at home. Patients with a mild course of the disease receive treatment at home, with no more than 30% of lung damage. District doctors call them every day to assess their condition, video consultations take place at least once every three days, and the necessary procedures are also provided. If the condition worsens, for example, the temperature does not subside within three to five days, shortness of breath and tachycardia increase, the patient is hospitalized. These services have become available to the population since July this year.

From the same period, mobile teams began to work. From July to September, the Fund directed more than 1 billion tenge to pay for their services. For each call to the clinic, they receive 5,400 tenge, thus, over 190 thousand visits were made in three months. Mobile teams, which include a doctor and / or a nurse, sometimes a specialized specialist, can conduct an initial examination of a patient, assess the severity of his condition, in the presence of COVID-19 symptoms, take material for a PCR test, conduct pulse oximetry, and issue a referral if indicated X-ray or computed tomography, prescribe medications. It should be noted that over 3000 such brigades have been created in the regions.

More than 19 billion tenge has been allocated for PCR diagnostics. From March to September, the Fund paid 10.7 billion tenge for the tests carried out. 222,024 Kazakhstanis underwent PCR testing in hospitals in the country, and 708,124 people underwent outpatient testing.

The Health Insurance Fund reminds that in order to improve the quality of services that are paid for by the Fund, patients can contact the 1406 contact center with complaints and suggestions, and also leave them in the Qoldau 24/7 mobile application.
